The overall objective of the evaluation was to assess the extent to which anticipated project outcomes were achieved. Specifically, the consultant was tasked to:
i. Assess the extent to which the overall and specific objectives of the project have been realized;
ii. Assess the effectiveness of the strategies employed in implementing the project;
iii. Examine and analyze the achieved results Vis a Vis anticipated results;
iv. Review the relevance of the project to the targets;
v. Assess efficiency with regard to the implementation of the project
vi. Document lessons learnt;
vii. Provide relevant recommendations based on evaluation findings
The evaluation methodology was participatory and largely qualitative in nature. It sought participation of project staff, YWA board members and project beneficiaries. This approach was adopted because it was consistent with the nature of the project, which was equally participatory and engaging in nature. Visual observations about young women’s knowledge and attitude about SRHR and GBV was important to assess because it is a ‘litmus test’ of their capability to transfer knowledge to others in the community.
